About the Project

Oso Negro Energy Storage (Oso Negro) is ideally located in Albuquerque, New Mexico on approximately 4 acres of commercially zoned land, where it interconnects to critical transmission infrastructure at PNM’s West Mesa Substation. This facility will provide much-needed energy storage capacity and services to the Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association (“Tri-State”) and the electrical grid in the Albuquerque area, enhancing grid reliability and accelerating the integration of locally produced renewable energy.
